Introduction:

Hello, my friend, my fellow traveler. You know, for years I was searching for the truth, wandering the winding corridors of books and philosophies, but none of them led me to my destination. Until one day, I decided to change my path and, instead of searching the outer world, begin a journey into the inner world. This journey confronted me with myself, with my wounds and fears, with my strengths and weaknesses. I understood that many of our sufferings originate from false beliefs that were planted in our minds in childhood and have grown roots like weeds. This book is not a dry and soulless guide, but a roadmap for your journey into the depths of your being. A miracle is not going to happen here, you are going to create the miracle of your life. In these pages, I will share my experiences, my moments of insight and vision with you, so that they may be a light for your path. Are you ready to join me on this journey?

Chapter One:

Is Hypnosis Really Mind Control or Just a Myth?

Why do we always think that hypnosis is a dangerous mind game and the hypnotist can make us do things we don’t want to do? Where does this fear come from and is it rooted in reality? This question is a concern for many who seek to understand this phenomenon and want to know whether there is a truth behind the curtains of stage shows and Hollywood movies. Maybe the root of this fear goes back to the unknown power of the mind, a power that is not under our control and we are afraid someone will abuse it. For this reason, the first step on this journey is to dust off our misconceptions and prepare to accept reality. We must ask ourselves if we are truly ready to face the truth or if we want to stay in the safe world of myths. This chapter is going to answer these questions and pave the way for a fruitful journey.

The truth is that hypnosis is neither a form of mind control nor an artificial sleep. It is a state of deep focus, a changed awareness in which our conscious mind becomes calm and our subconscious mind becomes active. In this state, we are fully aware and in control of our actions. No one can force us to do something that is contrary to our ethical principles and beliefs. This is like when you are watching an engaging movie and get so absorbed in the story that you don’t hear the sounds around you. In that moment, you are in a mild trance, but you are fully aware that you are watching a movie. Hypnosis is the same, with the difference that you create this state consciously. This state is an opportunity to enter the inner world and talk to your true self.

Many misconceptions about hypnosis originate from stage shows and movies. In these shows, hypnotized individuals perform strange acts which makes people think that the hypnotist has supernatural powers. But the truth is that these people do these things voluntarily and have coordinated with the hypnotist in advance. They use their state of trance to entertain the audience and not to do anything against their inner will. In fact, it is a show and not a scientific phenomenon. If someone does not want to be hypnotized, no force can make them. It is a two-way collaboration that requires trust and readiness. So if someone tells you that they are afraid of hypnosis, tell them that their fear is from a myth and not from reality.

The history of hypnosis is also full of misunderstandings and misconceptions. In the past, people like Franz Anton Mesmer referred to this phenomenon as “animal magnetism” and considered it a form of energy healing. These beliefs gave credit to this phenomenon for years and kept it away from the world of science. But over time, great psychologists like Milton Erickson correctly recognized this phenomenon and introduced it as a powerful tool in psychotherapy and self-discovery. This transformation turned hypnosis from a mysterious secret into a practical science. This eventful history shows us that we should look at old beliefs with caution and seek the truth.

The truth is that hypnosis is a tool, like a hammer. You can use a hammer to build a house or to destroy it. It depends on who uses it and for what purpose. Hypnosis is the same. It can be used to improve life, treat illnesses, and for personal growth, or it can be used for unethical purposes. But this does not mean that this phenomenon is dangerous, but rather that ethics are important in its use. A good hypnotist is someone who adheres to ethical principles and always acts in the best interest of their client. So this phenomenon is neither dangerous nor supernatural, but a powerful tool for inner awakening.

The human mind is like a garden. If you don’t take care of it, weeds will grow in it and the beautiful flowers will wither. Hypnosis is like a skilled gardener who helps you clean the weeds from the garden of your mind and cultivate beautiful flowers. This gardener helps you eliminate negative beliefs and replace them with positive ones. This process requires collaboration; you must allow the gardener to enter your garden. If you do not allow this, no change will happen. So the first step on this journey is to surrender to this process and open the gates of the mind. Put aside your fears and get ready to face the beautiful garden of your mind.

Many people think that hypnosis is a state of numbness and unconsciousness, a state in which they feel nothing. But this belief is completely wrong. In hypnosis, you are fully aware and can hear the sounds around you and experience your feelings. In fact, your feelings may even become stronger than in the normal state. This state is a state of altered consciousness, not a state of numbness. In this state, you can connect with your old memories and feelings and experience them deeply. This experience can help you heal old wounds and learn from them. So hypnosis is a completely live and dynamic experience.

One of the common questions people ask is whether it is possible to remain in a hypnotic state. The answer is no. Hypnosis is a temporary state and, like sleep, the mind automatically exits from it. If the hypnotist leaves you in this state, you will automatically come out of the trance after a few minutes. Our mind has an automatic mechanism for awakening that does not allow us to remain in a specific state. This mechanism is similar to the alarm clocks that exist in our brain and wake us up when necessary. So do not worry about remaining in a trance, this is a completely baseless fear.

The most important lesson we can learn from this chapter is that hypnosis is an internal tool and not an external power. This power is within us and we access it with the help of hypnosis. The hypnotist is only a guide who shows us the way, but we are the ones who make the journey. So instead of being afraid of this phenomenon, we should use it as an opportunity to discover ourselves and improve our lives. This opportunity allows us to change negative beliefs, quit bad habits, and get closer to our dreams. This book is an invitation to use this inner power.

Finally, let us put the myths aside once and for all and turn to the truth. Hypnosis is a powerful tool for inner change and transformation. It is a way to talk to our subconscious mind, the part of the mind that is responsible for many of our behaviors. By getting to know this part of the mind and working with it, we can guide our lives in the direction we want. This chapter is only the beginning of this journey. In the following chapters, we will delve deeper into the mechanisms of this phenomenon and learn how to use it practically. So take a deep breath and get ready to go on an amazing journey into your inner world.

Chapter Two:

Principles of Hypnosis Psychology

Have you ever asked yourself why, despite all the efforts we make to change ourselves, we still return to old patterns? Why do some of our decisions seem completely logical at the moment, but after a while, we repeat the same past behaviors? This is a question that is hidden behind many of our sufferings and disappointments and its root goes back to the complex structure of our mind. We have two different beings inside us, one lives in full awareness and the other is hidden in the shadows and commands from there. These two parts are two sides of the same coin and to understand them, we must begin a deeper journey.

Our mind can be compared to an iceberg, where a small part of it is above the water and a much larger part is below the water. The part above the water is our conscious mind, which is responsible for logic, analysis, will, and thinking. This is the part that decides what clothes you wear or what book you read. But the huge part below the water is our subconscious mind, which is responsible for our emotions, memories, inner beliefs, and behavioral patterns. The subconscious is like a large library where all your experiences and feelings from the moment of birth to today are stored.

Our conscious mind cannot process all the information due to its limited capacity. Therefore, in order for us to be able to live in today’s complex world, our subconscious mind creates patterns for us. These patterns, like computer programs, run in the background and automatically guide many of our behaviors. This is why, despite being aware of a bad habit, such as eating too much sweets, we continue to do it. Because this behavior is not controlled by logic, but by a subconscious program. These patterns were created for our survival but sometimes they turn into an obstacle to progress.

Hypnosis is not a magic key, but a gateway that allows us to pass through the conscious mind and communicate directly with the subconscious mind. In this process, we temporarily calm the logical part of our mind and allow our intuitive and emotional part to get closer to us. This direct communication allows us to identify old beliefs and replace them with new and constructive ones. This is like opening the doors of a large library and taking the old and unused books off the shelves and putting new and useful books in their place.

This direct communication with the subconscious is established through something called suggestion. A suggestion, in simple terms, is any thought, idea, or command that is given to our mind. From the moment of birth, we are exposed to countless suggestions that we receive from our environment. The things we hear from our parents, the things we see in the media, and even our own internal dialogues are all suggestions. Our subconscious mind accepts these suggestions without judgment or analysis and accepts them as part of our inner reality.

Suggestions exist in two main forms: direct and indirect. A direct suggestion is clear and unambiguous, like the sentence “You are calm and feel relaxed.” This type of suggestion is effective when the individual is ready to accept it. But an indirect suggestion is more subtle and is often presented as a metaphor, story, or question. For example, instead of saying “You will quit smoking,” you can say “Imagine your body is like a lush garden that needs fresh air to grow.” The indirect suggestion is often more powerful due to the lack of resistance from the logical mind.

When a suggestion is transmitted directly to the subconscious mind, it begins to grow like a seed planted in fertile soil. This seed turns into a belief and that belief shapes our behavior and emotions. If you believe you are unable to do something, your subconscious mind will use all its energy to prove that belief. But if you replace that belief with a positive suggestion, for example, “I can do this,” your mind will start to find ways to achieve that goal. The power of suggestion lies here.

Why do some people respond better to hypnosis and others don’t? This goes back to hypnotic sensitivity. Hypnotic sensitivity is an innate ability that has nothing to do with intelligence or mental weakness. People who have more sensitivity are people with a strong imagination and an inner readiness to let go of control. They can easily imagine themselves in another world and connect more deeply with their emotions. These people enter a state of trance quickly. But this does not mean that people with less sensitivity cannot benefit from hypnosis.

Hypnotic sensitivity is like a muscle that is strengthened with practice. With simple exercises like meditation, visualization, and concentration, you can make your mind more ready to accept suggestions. Practice can help you find peace and turn off your conscious mind for moments. The more you practice, the more you trust yourself and your ability to enter a trance and use suggestions increases. This is a gradual process that can become a powerful skill with patience and practice.

Ultimately, understanding the duality of the conscious and subconscious mind and the unique power of suggestion turns us from a passenger in the boat of life into a capable captain. We no longer act solely based on old patterns, but we can consciously change the course of our lives by using our inner tools. This awareness is a precious gift that allows us to be freed from the slavery of old beliefs and create new realities for ourselves. The journey to the depths of the mind is a journey toward freedom, where we are responsible for creating our own lives and can use all our abilities to achieve it.

Chapter Three:

How to prepare for a hypnosis session and enter a trance?

Why is it that when we want to focus on something, distracting thoughts flood our minds and don’t let us have peace? We may have tried many times to find peace with meditation, but the sound of the clock, the sound of cars outside, or even the sound of our own minds, have prevented us from reaching that state of deep peace. This is a concern that many of us have and if we want to experience hypnosis, we must first of all learn how to create a suitable space for this inner journey. This space must be prepared not only externally, but also internally. We must allow ourselves to let go of control for a few minutes and surrender to the process.

Our environment has a deep effect on our mind. To start a hypnosis session, you must choose a space where you feel completely safe and calm. This space can be a quiet room in the house, a cozy corner in nature, or any place where no noise bothers you and no one suddenly enters. The ambient light should be soft and the temperature should be comfortable, neither too cold nor too hot. Even your clothes should be comfortable so that nothing distracts you. This external preparation sends a message to your mind that the time for peace and letting go has come and reduces its resistance.

But mental preparation is as important as environmental preparation. Before starting the session, you must set aside all worries and daily thoughts. This does not mean suppressing them, but accepting them and letting them go for a while. You can start with a deep breath, breathe calmly a few times to calm your mind. Tell yourself that you are only going to put your conscious mind in a state of rest for a few minutes. This mental readiness is like tuning a musical instrument to play a beautiful song; if the instrument is not tuned, the song will not sound good.

After the space and mind are ready, it is time to start the induction process. Induction is the first step to entering the hypnotic trance state. In this stage, we use special techniques to help our conscious mind calm down and open the doors of the subconscious. One of the most common methods is the progressive induction technique. In this method, you focus on each part of your body from your toes to your head in order and give them a command of calmness and heaviness. For example, “Your feet are becoming calm and heavy, your knees are becoming loose and relaxed and…” This focus pushes away distracting thoughts and puts the body in a state of deep relaxation.

Another very effective technique is gaze fixation. In this method, you stare at a fixed point, for example a shiny object on the wall or an imaginary point. As you look at that point, your eyes will get tired over time and your eyelids will become heavy. The hypnotist offers suggestions at this moment, such as “allow your eyelids to become heavy, allow your eyes to close.” This method uses the natural mechanism of eye fatigue to induce a trance and allows the mind to distance itself from the outside world.

Another method is induction through breathing. Breathing is our most important tool for controlling the mind. By focusing on inhaling and exhaling, the rhythm of your breathing becomes calmer and deeper and over time, your mind also calms down. By counting your breaths, for example, counting from one to ten and returning to one, you can help your mind focus on only one thing. This process not only helps you enter a trance, but it is also a powerful tool for managing stress and anxiety in daily life. A deep breath is the bridge between our mind and body.

In addition to these methods, there are also rapid induction methods that are mostly used in clinical or therapeutic settings. These methods usually use a small sensory shock to put the person in a trance in an instant. For example, a gentle tap on the arm or a quick command like “sleep” can suddenly bypass the conscious mind and put the person in a deep trance. These methods require high experience and trust and are usually effective for people who have high sensitivity and have been hypnotized before.

The most important principle in all these techniques is surrender. You should not try to force yourself into a trance. The more you try, the more your conscious mind will resist. You must simply trust the process and let it happen. This is like floating in water. If you try to force yourself to stay in the water, you will sink, but if you relax your body, you will naturally stay on the water. Hypnosis is the same. Relax, breathe, and just let it happen.

Entering a trance state is a unique experience and is different for everyone. Some people feel heavy, some feel light, and some people have no special feeling. The most important sign is that you feel a deep sense of peace and your daily thoughts move away from your mind. In this state, you are fully aware, but your concentration is very high. This state is a golden opportunity that allows you to connect with the deeper parts of your mind and plant the seeds of change.

This chapter is only the beginning of this journey. Understanding the principles of induction is the first step to entering the inner world. In the following chapters, we will learn how to use this trance state to make positive changes in our lives and how to exit it safely. So with the knowledge of these principles, with a deep breath, get ready to step towards the light of peace and open the doors of your inner world to yourself.

Chapter Four:

Working with Trance and Deepening

Have you ever been in a dream that seemed completely real, to the point where it engaged all your senses and feelings? That moment is exactly the point we want to reach in hypnosis. A deeper trance means a stronger connection with the subconscious mind, and this stronger connection is the foundation for lasting changes. Many of us enter a light trance after induction, but in order to be able to plant new seeds in our subconscious, we need to plough the soil of this garden more deeply. This deepening is exactly the stage that turns hypnosis from a simple relaxation into a powerful tool for transformation.

After entering the trance state, the first step is to identify its signs. These signs are usually subtle and imperceptible and should be paid close attention to. One of the most common signs is a deep relaxation of the facial and body muscles, to the point that the muscles become loose and relaxed and you may feel a sense of heaviness or lightness. The person’s breathing becomes calmer and deeper and their blinking may become slower and heavier. The pupils may also dilate slightly. These signs tell us that the conscious mind has calmed down and the door of the subconscious has been opened and is ready to receive suggestions. This moment is a moment that should be entered with respect and awareness.

To deepen the trance, we use deepening techniques. One of the most effective methods is to use metaphors and mental images. For example, you can ask the person to imagine themselves going down a staircase. With each step they go down, they experience more peace. You can tell them “with each step you go down, you become ten times more deeply relaxed.” The elevator metaphor has the same use. With each floor you go down, the trance becomes deeper. These mental images help the subconscious mind to understand the deepening process in a visual and tangible way.

Counting down is also a classic deepening technique. Ask the person to count from ten to one and with each number they reach, they become deeper and deeper. For example, “ten, you are getting deeper, nine, you are getting calmer, eight, you are going deeper…” This is a simple and powerful method that allows the mind to focus on a simple task and, by letting go of control, sink into the depths of its being. The important thing in all these stages is that the tone of voice should be calm, confident, and intimate, because our tone speaks directly to the subconscious mind and creates a feeling of safety and trust in the person.

After deepening the trance, it is time to offer effective suggestions. At this stage, words gain several times more power, so their selection is very important. The first principle is to use positive words. Instead of “you no longer have anxiety,” say “you are experiencing peace and comfort.” The subconscious mind does not understand negative words well and focusing on the absence of something can have a negative result. The second principle is to use the present tense. Instead of “in the future you will gain confidence,” say “you are full of confidence right now.” This makes the mind think that the change has happened right now.

The third principle is to repeat the suggestions. In order for a suggestion to take hold in the subconscious mind, it must be repeated several times, like drops of water that gradually wear away a stone. You can express a suggestion in different ways to make sure that it is well understood. Your tone of voice should also be calm and intimate and convey a sense of decisiveness and confidence to the person. You should never use a commanding and harsh tone, because this causes subconscious resistance. At this stage, you are like a trusted friend who offers new ways of living better to the subconscious.

One of the best ways to offer suggestions is to use metaphors and stories. The subconscious mind responds very well to stories. You can create a short story in which the hero of the story faces a similar problem as the person and finally overcomes it successfully. This allows the subconscious mind to accept the lessons of the story without resistance. For example, to increase confidence, you can tell the story of a small lion that finally realizes its inner power. Stories indirectly convey the intended message to the subconscious.

Throughout this process, you must also pay attention to the person’s reactions. If the person becomes restless or shows signs of resistance, you should immediately change your method. You may need to go back and use an induction or deepening technique again. The process of hypnosis is a two-way path that requires constant collaboration and communication. If you don’t pay attention to the signs, the connection with the subconscious may be cut off and the person may come out of the trance. This is like driving on an unfamiliar road, you must always pay attention to the signs.

Finally, working with a trance is the art of listening and seeing. You must listen to the part of the person’s being that does not speak with words. You must pay attention to subtle physical signs and offer suggestions with the utmost care and love. This makes the person not only enter a deep trance, but also feel safe and valuable and be ready to receive your messages. This chapter is a gateway to an art that can transform life. In the next chapter, we will learn how to use this art to improve life in various fields.

Chapter Five:

Practical Applications of Hypnosis

Have you ever felt trapped in a snare of repetitive patterns, but didn’t know how to get out? Maybe you’ve been trying for years to quit smoking, lose weight, or overcome your fears, but with every attempt, more disappointment comes your way. This situation is like having an old map in your hand and expecting to reach a new destination with it. Our mind sometimes works with old and unhelpful programs and needs a new roadmap to achieve new results. Hypnosis is the very tool that allows you to rewrite this map and reach new destinations in life.

Hypnosis is an amazing tool in the field of self-knowledge and personal development. In a trance state, you go on an inner journey and get to know the parts of yourself that are normally hidden. For example, to increase self-confidence, you can, in a trance, visualize an image of yourself in a state full of confidence. The subconscious mind cannot distinguish between reality and a mental image and by repeating this visualization, this image turns into a powerful belief. Or to manage stress and anxiety, you can, in a trance, create a safe and calm place for yourself and return to that mental place whenever you feel anxious. This helps you to cope with stress in the moment.

One of the important applications of hypnosis is to change unwanted habits and behaviors. Quitting smoking, losing weight, or overcoming phobias are challenges that often have their roots in the subconscious mind. By bypassing the resistance of the conscious mind, hypnosis allows you to deal with the root of these habits. For quitting smoking, strong suggestions can be used to break the mental association with smoking and create positive feelings towards health and freedom from addiction. For losing weight, suggestions can be designed in such a way that the person becomes disinterested in unhealthy foods and inclined towards healthy foods. Hypnosis is not a diet, but a mental change that makes the diet easier for you.

Overcoming phobias is one of the most stunning applications of hypnosis. A phobia is an irrational fear that is usually recorded in the mind in childhood due to an unpleasant experience. With hypnosis, you can access that original memory and neutralize the negative emotions associated with it. In a trance state, the person can be gently and in a controlled manner faced with the subject of their fear and given suggestions that will make their fear disappear. This process is like opening an old file, correcting its mistakes, and then closing it forever. This process can be extremely effective for getting rid of fears such as fear of heights or confined spaces.

Hypnosis also has many applications in the field of performance improvement. Professional athletes use it to increase concentration, improve motor skills, and control pre-competition anxiety. By visualizing success, the athlete sends a message to their subconscious mind that winning is a possibility and the mind uses all its resources to make it happen. This visualization increases their self-confidence and significantly reduces performance anxiety. For this reason, many prominent athletes have included hypnosis as part of their training program.

In the field of studying and learning, hypnosis helps you increase your concentration and absorb information faster. With appropriate suggestions, you can command your mind to ignore all distractions while studying and focus only on the subject. You can also use hypnosis to strengthen your memory. Before sleeping, you can give suggestions to your mind to record the information studied during the day in your long-term memory. This makes the learning process deeper and more lasting and you reach your goals faster.

Another application of hypnosis is increasing creativity. Creativity has a direct connection with the subconscious mind. In a trance state, the logical part of the mind that usually judges and suppresses new ideas, calms down. This state allows new and creative ideas to come to the surface of awareness. Writers, artists, and designers can use hypnosis to enter a creative state and find new solutions for their problems. In this state, you can receive new ideas without any censorship and apply them in real life.

As you can see, hypnosis is a versatile tool that can be applied in almost all aspects of our lives. From improving performance to managing emotions, this tool allows us to be the creator of our new destiny instead of being a victim of old patterns. This chapter is only a brief look at the power of this tool. In the next chapter, we will address the most important part of this process, which is awakening from hypnosis and its ethical considerations. Because every great power also comes with a great responsibility.

Chapter 6:

Recovery from Hypnosis and Ethical Considerations

The journey to the depths of the mind is a wonderful and transformative experience. But every journey has an end and returning from it is as important as its beginning. Maybe you have wondered if it is possible to remain in a trance forever? This common fear, which stems from Hollywood myths, has no basis in reality. Our mind has a powerful automatic mechanism for awakening that even if someone leaves us in a trance, we will naturally wake up after a short time. But in order to have a calm and safe return, we need special techniques that we will discuss in this chapter.

Awakening techniques to return from hypnosis are as simple and gentle as induction techniques. One of the safest methods is counting down. Ask the person to count from five to one and tell them that with each number they reach, they will become more awake and aware. For example, “five, you are slowly coming towards wakefulness, four, you feel more energy in your body, three, you are getting ready to open your eyes…” Upon reaching one, the person will be fully awake and alert. This method allows the mind to gradually exit the trance state and return to the outside world.

In addition to counting down, using positive suggestions for awakening is also very important. Tell the person that when they wake up, they will feel fresh, energetic, and full of peace. You can also assure them that all the positive suggestions they received during the session will remain in their subconscious mind and will gradually become a reality. This process not only helps with awakening, but also prepares the mind to accept and sustain positive changes. This gives the person a sense of security and control and allows them to leave the session calmly.

But every great power also comes with a great responsibility. The ethical rules of hypnosis are the foundation of any safe and effective session. The first and most important principle is obtaining permission and consent. No one should be hypnotized without their full consent and awareness of the process. The second principle is maintaining privacy and confidentiality of information. Everything that is said during the session must remain confidential. A good hypnotist respects their client’s privacy very strictly. Also, a good hypnotist will never use hypnosis for unethical purposes or to harm anyone.

Using hypnosis for unethical purposes not only violates ethical rules, but also destroys trust in this science. The hypnotist should never use their power to control the person or to do things that are in conflict with their ethics and beliefs. Our subconscious mind has a strong defense mechanism that protects us from harmful commands. However, adherence to ethical rules by the hypnotist shows their professionalism and commitment to the client’s well-being. Choosing a trusted professional is the first step towards a positive experience.

And finally, the most important part of this journey is self-hypnosis. You do not need anyone else to enter this inner world. You can put yourself in a trance state by using all the techniques you have learned in this book. Find a quiet place, stare at a fixed point, take deep breaths, and then use the deepening techniques to go into the depths of your being. In this state, you can give yourself positive suggestions, visualize your goals, and get help from yourself to achieve them.

Self-hypnosis is a valuable gift that allows you to take control of your life and become a better version of yourself every day. This process gives you the power to heal your inner wounds, fight limiting beliefs, and pave the way for a bright future. This is a skill that you can strengthen with practice and discipline and benefit from it throughout your life.

This journey comes to an end, but the path ahead of you has just begun. With the knowledge and tools you have gained in this book, you can become a better version of yourself every day. Learn to listen to your subconscious mind, befriend it, and use it to create the life you have always dreamed of. This is a never-ending journey toward the true self and I hope this book will be a light for this mysterious path.
